I am Back! Easter Chick Card

Easter Cards for my grandsons
My oldest grandson is 9 and every year it becomes increasingly challenging to
come up with a fresh New FUN card.

Easel Card opened up

I made this card to fit a 5 x 7 envelope with my Cameo Silhouette.  The Chick is from Lori Whitlock's "Easter Trio"and the grass is Sophie Gallo's.  I converted the Jamie Koay's "Messy Lines Mesh Lattice" background to a printable pattern for the Chick on the right in the bottom picture.  The Happy Easter sign is a "Merry Christmas" sign from Sara Hurley.  I traced it and added the Happy Easter.
All these files are from the Silhouette Design Store.  I added various patterns to the eggs.

I made my own easel to match the the Chick.
Card opened up and layed flat.

I hope this inspires you!!!

Easter Chick Basket

I've been intrigued by the use of these 1" by 8" cellophane bags.  My Easter Chick Bag/Basket was created from altering files from myscrapchick.com.  If you haven't checked them out and you have a Silhouette Cameo or other die-cut machine, do it now!  They have a weekly freebie and their files are super cute and they have great sales.

I don't intend to give explicit directions on my blog.  My main intent is to inspire!  I will give credit to those who have inspired me for each design or what files I have derived the final creation from.  The wings and the head feathers for this chick come from Easter Chicks and the feet are from Trio of Bunnies both from MyScrapChick.  The bowtie is from the Silhouette online store Chick with Bow by Sarah Bailey.  I purchased my cellophane bags on Ebay.

I am BLOGGING!

A few years ago I said I would never text, be on Facebook or Twitter and I didn't even know what a blog was for sure.  I thought a Blog was like an online diary and why would anyone want to share their intermost thoughts with the world?  Now I am on Facebook and I love it as it helps me stay close to my extended family.  I fought the need for a Smartphone because all I thought I needed a phone for was well, making phone calls!  Now I have one of those and I am texting too!  I still say I will NEVER Twitter but who knows.

Now I am BLOGGING!  Why?  As a crafter I am always in search of inspiration, subscribing to numerous craft magazines over the years.  With the computer age and so many "free" sources online, many of my old relables are no longer being published.  And wow has Pinterest added a whole new dimension of inspiration!  But, even after being inspired, I never find myself "copying" someone elses ideas.  I always put my own spin on it OR spend hours truly creating my own designs.  I feel like many of my designs are not like anything else I have seen and I want to share them with others.  My daughter has been encouraging me to have my own blog for sometime and I have resisted because of time constraints.   Time spent blogging means less time creating!!!

I want to share my creations so here I am with the help of my techno savey daughter.  I have a lot to figure out, like how to make this page prettier and how to add pictures.  I won't be a daily blogger but hopefully I can tear myself away from my creative space when I have a new creation to share.
